#Doha2019: Tyquendo Tracey won’t advance to the men’s 100 metres final
Jamaica’s
Tyquendo Tracey just missed out of a place in the final of the men’s 100 metres
at the World Championships in Doha, Qatar, on Saturday.
Tracey
finished Heat Three of the semi-finals in fourth in 10.11 seconds, the
identical time as Filippo Tortu of Italy in the same race, with the Italian
given the edge over the Jamaican.
With the
first two finishers in each of the three heats getting automatic spots in the
final, the other two places in the final were filled by the fastest times in
all three semi-finals.
Defending
champion Justin Gatlin, who finished heat two in third was the next best time
with 10.09, with Tracey and Tortu following.
Akani
Simbine of South Africa won Tracey’s race in 10.01 seconds with Zharnel Hughes
of Great Britain second in 10.05, followed by Tortu and Tracey.
