#Doha2019: Clayton wins women’s 400m hurdles semi to move into final
Rushell Clayton of Jamaica finished the women’s 400 metres
hurdles in a hurry, to win Heat Two of the semi-finals at the World
Championships in Doha, Qatar on Wednesday.
Clayton was among the leaders through the race with Ashley
Spencer of the United States of America going out hard and setting the early
pace.
Spencer started to tire with about 70 metres to go and
Clayton made up ground on her to pass her at the final hurdle and move away
strongly to win. Spencer faded to third as Zuzana Hejnova of Czech Republic
also passed her metres away from the finish line.
Clayton was clocked in 54.17 seconds with Hejnova doing
54.41 and Spencer 54.42.
