FLOW YouTube Summit delights at UWI

Telecommunications company FLOW Jamaica,

with the help of six of Jamaica’s most popular YouTube personalities, brought

inspiration and laughter to students at the University of the West Indies (UWI),

Mona campus on Thursday, October 10.

Hosting the first-ever Hustle On YouTube Summit at the Social Sciences Lecture Theatre, it was a remarkable afternoon of discussions around the increasingly appealing platform – as Jamaican vloggers Rush Cam, Petite Sue Divinitii, Tanaania, Kevin2woKrayzee, Dutty Berry and Quite Perry shed some light on their start on YouTube.

The general consensus from the six dynamic YouTubers

was that there is much more room for Jamaicans to be taken seriously on the largely

    US-dominated platform.

The summit was especially timely as FLOW

introduces its unlimited social media plans for customers, which has been

    revamped to include YouTube.

With FLOW’s unlimited plans, Jamaicans are

being encouraged to play, stream and create their own content to position the country

as a viable player on the Google-owned platform.

The YouTubers were quick to point out that while

it’s best to get started now, it does take a certain level of commitment and

    discipline to be consistent.

Most importantly, being one’s most authentic

self makes a world of difference in a business where ‘fakes’ are weeded out on

    a constant basis.
