Tarrus Riley and Agent Sasco for PAN finals
The annual event where pan chicken cooks and vendors from across the island compete for bragging rights culminates this Sunday at Grizzly’s Plantation Cove in Priory, St Ann. Entertainment has played an integral role in the offerings at PAN and this year is no different.
Agent Sasco and Tarrus Riley are ready to delight patrons with their music. This is the second time that Agent Sasco will be hitting the PAN stage. In 2017, patrons in Portland stood in the pouring rain as he melodiously sang his hits.
“PAN finals has become one of the legit calendar events for the year and provides patrons with a full experience. It’s great because it brings together two pillars of Jamaican culture, music and pan chicken. I am happy to be performing again,” said Agent Sasco.
He gave an insight into what patrons can expect.
“I will be performing with my band the Sound Agents. With the live band there is much more flexibility so we will be performing all the favourites from the catalogue, some with a different twist,” he confided. Singer Tarrus Riley is just as eager to perform at the event.
“It will be all high energy and good vibes. I know the patrons always look forward to events like these to have a good time, and it is a smart move on the part of CB [Caribbean Broilers]. Just come out and have a great time,” he said.
Twenty-eight competitors, including two wild cards will showcase their culinary skills at the event, which is hosted by CB Foods. Nicole Hall, assistant brand manager at CB Foods shared what can be expected on Sunday.
“Patrons can expect a funfilled family day, with great food and Jamaica’s best pan chicken from our 28 competitors. It will be day to remember with amazing entertainment and so many tips on how to live better every single day.”
“The PAN 2019 series has been exciting and special in many ways. With this being our 15th year, we have been celebrating each step of the way. Celebrating Jamaican food, people and businesses that work energetically to continue building the best version our Jamaica,” she added.
In addition to the performances, patrons will enjoy on-stage activities, where numerous prizes from PAN partners are up for grabs. The children will not be left out of the mix, as the Monster Milk kiddies village will provide several and activities rides for their enjoyment.
