Third World has been churning out hit songs since the late 1970s. The band’s hit-streak continued into the 1980s and early 1990s with songs including Committed, Forbidden Love, Try Jah Love and Always Around.

Third World is part of the entertainment package of next Sunday’s staging of Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival —Florida Edition scheduled for Miramar Regional Park.

Christopher Martin, Bugle, Honorebel

, Ed Robinson, Papa Beeto, gospel artiste Sone and up-and-coming singer Jaz Elise are also billed to perform.

Christopher “Johnny” Daley is slated to bring his brand of comedy to the proceedings, while Renaissance Disco’s Delano and Jazzy T will provide the musical delights.

Dubbed the largest Caribbean food festival in the United States, the festival has a reputation as a cultural explosion of music, food and wholesome family fun.

Event promoter Eddy Edwards explained what patrons can expect at this year’s festival.

“We have a more compact layout and most of the park is well lit. We also have a canopy that protects us from the elements. There will be lots of interaction from our sponsors and entertainment that is impacting, interactive and very entertaining,” Edwards told the Jamaica Observer.

One of the festival’s highlights is the annual Celebrity Cook-Off. This year, Third World’s founding member Stephen “Cat” Coore will go up against Miramar City’s Mayor Wayne Messam.

The children are not to be left out as there will be fun rides, face painting, and games.
