Jamaican comedian Ity Ellis graduates from UWI
Jamaican comedian Ity Ellis has graduated from the University of the West Indies, Mona campus, with a master’s in business administration.
The entertainer
took to social media before the graduation ceremony on Saturday to post a video
in his Instagram story, showing him in his graduation gown while teasing his
batchmates.
Earlier this
week, Ity also made an Instagram post, sharing his graduation photo.
“I remember
many years ago when I was successful at the PEP examinations?, my mother was ecstatic. I can’t forget, and will
always share, how she shouted, screamed “mi win di prize!”, jumping up and down
joyfully sharing with everybody on Third Street in Trenchtown #proudmoment,”
Ity began.
“How much more overwhelmed would she be had she been alive to see this day? “Di likkle black bwoy” graduating from UWI with a Master in Business Administration. Heartfelt gratitude to the Most High God Almighty for this gracious moment of favour. I was so blessed, deeply grateful, to be surrounded and supported by my selflessly loving family, kind colleagues, some inexpressibly exceptional students (in my group), and a few thoughtful and dedicated lecturers.”
After making the post, Ity, who is part of the Ity and Fancy Cat duo, was congratulated by numerous Jamaican celebrities. including Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Bounty Killer and Mr Lexx.
