Liverpool are eyeing their first Premier League trophy since 1990 and are sure to be fighting tooth and nail to avoid defeat to the champions. This isn’t a title decoder, its only November after all, but a win for Liverpool would make them even stronger favourites to lift the title in May.

They go into this game six points clear of second-place City and a victory would stretch that advantage to nine points. Liverpool have garnered 31 points from 11 Premier League games so far this season, in the English top-flight history, only Tottenham in 1960/61 (33 points) have had more points at this stage of any campaign.

This could be the year the Reds deliver that elusive title and it would be deserving given the style of football they have been playing for the last three seasons.

Coming back when staring defeat in the face shows just how much character and belief they have in the side this season. A couple of years ago, the Reds would have lost that game at Villa Park last weekend, but under Jurgen Klopp’s leadership they are relentless.

On the other hand, Manchester City head to Anfield knowing they must win this massive clash to close the gap between themselves and the Reds if they are to have a realistic chance of retaining their title. Having lost some key defenders this season, it is hardly surprising that the Manchester City ballers have struggled to maintain the high standard they set last season.

That said, they are still within touching distance of the unbeaten Liverpool and know fully well a win at Anfield will close the gap to just three points. They have scored 34 times in 11 games this season, nine more than Liverpool and more than double Manchester United’s total so far this season, which makes them a dangerous and deadly attacking force.
