Witness in Tesha Miller trial admits to striking plea bargain with DPP
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The court was told this morning that the witness in the trial against Tesha Miller made a plea bargain with the director of public prosecutions to have his life sentence reduced.
During cross-examination of the witness, attorney-at-law representing Miller, Bert Samuels, repeatedly suggested that “The only reason you are here to testify is because you got a reduction in your sentence”.
The witness admitted that the bargain was made last week Tuesday. However, he insisted that he became a State witness to put a stop to the crime and violence in Spanish Town.
Accusations are that Miller ordered the killing of then Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) Chairman Douglas Chambers, for which Andre “Blackman” Bryan was arrested and charged in 2010, but acquitted in 2016.
Bryan is now before the courts on other criminal charges.
