Koffee, Sly and Robbie among nominees for Grammy award
Veteran musicians and producers Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare and young reggae sensation Koffee are among the nominees for next year’s Grammy Awards in the Best Reggae Album category.
Sly and Robbie earn their seventh Grammy nomination in the category for their album The Final Battle: Sly and Robbie vs Roots Radics.
The nominations in the 62nd Grammy awards were announced on Wednesday morning.
The other nominees in the Best Reggae Album category are: As I Am by Julian Marley (his second nomination); Rapture by Koffee; More Work To Be Done by Third World (their eighth nomination); Mass Manipulation by Steel Pulse (their eighth nomination).
Koffee is the youngest Jamaican solo artiste to have been nominated for a Best Reggae Album Grammy. She is 19 years old.
Sly and Robbie won the award in 1999 for the album Friends.
The Grammy Awards will air live from the Staples Centre in Los Angeles on CBS on January 26.
