Open affair in Ron Ron Trophy event

The RonRon Trophy, a Restricted Stakes event going over six furlongs (1,200m), is one of three trophy races on tomorrow’s 10-race programme at Caymanas Park.

A competitive offing is expected as more than half of the 16 runners entered have a chance of winning.

The Supreme Racing Guide takes a closer look at the runners and their chances of winning.

AWESOME AVIATOR: (3 yo dk b c – Casual Trick – Royal Victress) – Has no chance here.

EL GRINGO: (3-y-o b g – Northern Giant – Heart Throb) – Is going to find it difficult.

TOP SHELF: (3-y-o ch f – Soul Warrior – First Choice) – Running some poor races in recent times and that trend should not change.

ROY ROGERS: (3-y-o gr g – Distorted – Soca Party) – Ran a good race on last only to be outdone by Crimson in the United Racehorse Trainers’ Association Trophy over nine furlongs and 25 yards (1,820m). Roy Rogers led until the winner got by at the furlong (200m) pole and now with a shorter contest, he is going to take a lot of catching and could steal a march on rivals.

LATAPY: (3-y-o gr c – American Dance – Honeymoon Baby) – Failed to follow up on last and could only manage ninth place in the United Racehorse Trainers’ Association Trophy. This time Latapy is not going to find this distance too short and is expected to finish in the money.

FORMAL FASHION: (3-y-o ch f – Blue Pepsi Lodge – Onemorefashion) – Fast filly who is going to make her presence felt in the early part of this race.

YETAGAIN: (3-y-o ch c – Market Rally – Opulent) – Was a winner on last going 6 ½ furlongs (1,300m) on November 16 in a time of 1:20.2. Yetagain defeated Fresh Cash by ¾ length and although he has to improve a lot on that performance to win here, Yetagain cannot be taken lightly.

CASUAL DRINK: (3-y-o b f – Casual Trick – Zacapa) – Came home with a late burst to finish in third place in a five-furlong straight event. Now going around the bend with a little more estate, Casual Drink can deliver in this one but is unpredictable.

ALI: (3-y-o ch c – Soul Warrior – Adina) – Ali has not yet caught on to the pace of this group.

CRYPTOCURRENCY: (3-y-o b f – Adore The Gold – Pleasant Ending) – Just caught on the wire by Princess Ava going 6 ½ furlongs on November 8. Now going half-a-furlong shorter, Cryptocurrency has a glorious chance of winning.

MY SWITCHAROO: (3-y-o dk b f – Turbo Compressor – Wimpy Skippy) – Has yet to show anything in three starts on local soil. My Switcharoo is not yet ready.

UNIVERSAL BOSS: (3-y-o b g – Casual Trick – Electrifying) – Has been disappointing of late but Universal Boss is the type of horse that turns around his form in the blink of an eye and with his stable being bang in form,he is going to make a brave bid.

REGGAE GONE GRAMMY: (3yo b f – Western Classic – Little Thunder) – A winner on last who is going to find repeating a tall order.

SPLENDID VISION: (3-y-o gr – Fearless Vision – Intensified) – Going to play her part in the early proceedings.

TREVOR’S CHOICE: (3-y-0 dkb c – Blue Pepsi Lodge – Queen Adira) – Was a no show as one of the top contenders going five furlongs on November 30. Trevor’s Choice should find six furlongs manageable and is expected to run a better race.

KING TAVARI: (3-y-o b g – American Dance – Sayamanda) – Cannot be recommended based on current form.
