Two on the trot for Truly Amazing
Truly Amazing went on another afternoon strolling binge and without much ado, chalked up win number two over the straight course but this time the distance was reduced from 1,000 metres to 800 metres.
The reduction in the distance was not an issue as she galloped resolutely to leave her eight rivals to once again jostle for the minor shares. The contest was a Restricted Allowance II run among native-bred three-year-olds non-winners of two races and imported three-year-olds and upwards maidens at Caymanas Park on Friday, December 6.
Ridden by jockey Aaron Chatrie, the three-year-old bay daughter by Traditional – Runnin On Empty won with much in hand by 4 ¼ lengths in a time of 45.2 seconds.
For the moment, trainer Spencer Chung is pleased with the filly’s progress.
“She was up for this and performed handily. Truly Amazing is coming along great and we are hoping for a better future by being patient.
She has gone over the straight course twice, how does she handle the round course in training?
“She does handle the round course, ok, but we are simply using the straight races that are at our disposal,” Chung explained.
