Manchester police recover stolen items, ask public to make contact
MANCHESTER, Jamaica— Police here are asking members of the public who have been robbed of their belongings and can identify them to visit the Mandeville police station.
This follows police raids in the Porus area of Manchester yesterday, where the police recovered a number items, including construction equipment, believed stolen.
“We conducted a number of raids in the Porus police [area] and have [recovered] a number of items most of which are tools which we suspect to have been stolen,” said head of the Manchester police Superintendent Gary Francis.
The items include an air compressor, chowels, a steam cleaner, a jigsaw, an all-purpose saw, a tile cutter, drills, radio hi-fi system, among many others.
“We are inviting members of the public whose premises might have been broken into to visit us at the Mandeville police station or to call us at 876-961-5581 or 876-962-2550 or 876-962-2832 and take along any identifying information to [verify] ownership of the material,” said Francis.
