UPDATE: Dwaine Spencer located after fear he had gone missing
ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica – Police say they are satisfied that People’s National Party caretaker for South East St Elizabeth Dr Dwaine Spencer and his girlfriend are safe as they have now been located.
Stephanie Lindsay, head of the Constabulary Communication Unit, confirmed that he had been found after there had been major speculation about his whereabouts after had failed to turn up at his medical practice in St Elizabeth on Tuesday.
“He is not missing,” SSP Lindsay told Observer Online.
Spencer’s associates and friends had expressed concern that the medical doctor has been missing since Tuesday morning after reportedly failing to turn up for work.
“He had called to say he would be coming to work, but then he never turned up. No one has been able to contact him. Both he and his partner are missing, everyone is concerned,” a source told Observer Online earlier.
Spencer challenged the Jamaica Labour Party incumbent Franklin Witter in last year’s General Election. Spencer is the younger brother of former Member of Parliament (MP) for St Elizabeth North Eastern Kern Spencer.
Efforts to get a comment from his older brother, Kern Spencer proved futile.
