Acts excite at NY’s Spring Bling
FOR singer Romain Virgo, being a part of the line-up for last Saturday’s staging of Spring Bling in Rochester, New York, was a relief after a two-year break.
“Spring Bling was a wonderful experience. I think it was such a great start, getting back out there on the road after being away from live shows and big stages for a long while,” Virgo shared in an interview with the Jamaica Observer.
Spring Bling, promoted by music executive Willie Daniels, was held at the Main Street Amory. Also on the line-up were New York-based act Lord Abstract, as well as dancehall acts Noah Powa, Mr Vegas, Busy Signal, Shenseea, and Stylo G.
“It was a great show overall, sharing the stage with fellow entertainers. It was a wonderful experience, the people seemed to enjoy themselves. It was a good opportunity for me to show off my talent to a different type of crowd. I was the only reggae singer on the line-up. I feel like I gained some new fans performing on the show. Big up Willie Daniels, DJ Norie, and the others who were involved in the staging of the show,” said Virgo.
This was the third staging of Spring Bling.
According to Daniels, the purpose of the event was to create a party atmosphere.
“It’s always been to create a big party atmosphere where the artistes are an additional element to the proceedings. It has become a staple in the market that people look forward to. Even though the line-up of artistes changes each time, the party vibes remain the same,” he said.
Daniels shared the highlight of last weekend’s staging.
“Overall, the love that the patrons gave all the artistes, but probably most surprising was the reception that Romain Virgo got. All artistes were well received. Mr Vegas is a town favourite, and he definitely did not let them down. But across the board, all the artistes got love from the crowd,” he said.
Tifa made a cameo appearance. She teamed with Noah Powa for their recently released single Mood, while dancehall artiste Ajii and Stylo G performed their 2021 hit Live for the Summer.
