JDF member dies in South Camp Road crash
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A soldier, who was hit by a car while walking along South Camp Road, St Andrew on Sunday, has succumbed to his injuries.
The deceased has been identified as 36-year-old Garron Anderson.
Anderson, who resides at Burnside Hill, Red Hills in St Andrew, was walking along the roadway when the driver of a Nissan Latio motorcar that was travelling towards Cross Roads allegedly lost control of his vehicle.
The driver reported mounted the embankment and then hit Anderson. The vehicle subsequently caught ablaze.
The accident happened about 9:30 am.
The police and units from the fire department were alerted and Anderson was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The police said the driver of the motor vehicle was warned for prosecution pending further investigations.
