Managed information technology (IT) services firm tTech Limited said it has been moving to take advantage of new opportunities in the digital landscape as more companies engage technology for business continuity amid the changing economic environment.

During the company’s last financial year ended in December, revenues grew to $392 million — $33 million more than that of the prior year as a result of more clients being brought to book owing to increased marketing activities.

“tTech had an encouraging start to 2021. Our marketing activities during the second half of 2020 resulted in several prospects being converted to customers in the first half on the year.

“Despite the issues facing the industry globally, we are still maintaining very high levels of output. Thankfully, the write-offs that occurred in the year are not expected to reoccur, so we can continue to work aggressively on our mandate of delivering insanely good IT services to our clients, especially during this volatile business climate,” commented the company’s CEO Christopher Reckord in notes affixed to the recently published audited results.

Despite the scaling of profits which amounted to $8 million for the year stemming from delays in receiving equipment due to continued global supply chain challenges, the company has it eyes set on a positive come back.

Banking on plans to further increase growth and strengthen performance this financial year, the IT company said it is now focused on converting remaining pipeline activities into realised gains. The full enforcement of the Data Protection Act is also expected to drive business growth for the firm which has been instrumental in getting companies compliant.

At its recently concluded tech conference, the fifth annual staging of the event, the firm through the services it offers showcased the latest technical innovations, developments, and solutions looking also at how these could be applied to make Caribbean businesses more globally competitive

“We’re pleased to host a completely virtual event, which will broaden our reach and influence even more,”Reckord stated.

Speaking at the business and technology conference held last week Minister of Industry, Investment and Commerce Aubyn Hill commended the company for its focused leadership, which he said has led it to becoming one of the country’s premier technology service provider.

He said the role of the company will be significantly helpful in advancing the digital maturity of the country, especially at a time when Government moves to expand broadband Internet access, roll-out digital products such as the JamDex currency and the National Digital Identification System (NIDS). These, he said, were also elements of a more general aim which seeks to position the country in becoming the ‘Silicon Valley of the Caribbean’.

“Government is investing in infrastructure technology and skills-building programmes to ensure that we are equipped to succeed in a digitally transformed world,” he stated.
