26 new COVID-19 cases in Jamaica, one death reported
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Ministry of Health and Wellness reported 26 new COVID-19 cases and one death on Wednesday, April 20, bringing the infection total to 129,373 and total deaths to 2,937.
The new cases comprise 14 females and 12 males, with ages ranging from three years to 92 years.
The cases were recorded in Kingston and St Andrew (11), St James (four), Clarendon (three), St Ann (two), St Catherine (two), Westmoreland (two), Hanover (one) and Manchester (one).
The deceased is a 76-year-old male from St Catherine who died in October 2021.
There were 18 recoveries in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 82,795.
Currently, 19 people are hospitalised, five of whom are moderately ill while one is critically ill.
The Health Ministry reported a positivity rate of 4.6 per cent.
