Yush The Return ended the event’s two-year Kingston hiatus last Sunday, April 17 with a stage show/party hybrid event that allowed Yush loyalists and first-timers the opportunity to enjoy the best of both worlds.
Hundreds converged at 36 Hope Road for an event that promised (and delivered) straight music, #NoLongTalking. The Wray & Nephew-sponsored party got off to a good start with early ‘jugglings’ by Arif Cooper and DJ Scientist, Kurt Riley, Stone Love and Coppershot. King of the Dancehall Beenie Man’s live set was arguably the highlight of the evening, with the veteran deejay delivering over 30 minutes of old-school hits as the crowd sang along, line by line. The second round of juggling followed, with the same set of deejays rocking the crowd until about midnight.
