Munga blazes at JACANA 4/20
Cannabis company JACANA held a series of events at its four locations to commemorate International Cannabis Day last Wednesday, April 20.
Dancehall artiste Munga Honorable was among the entertainers (the others were Jesse Royal and Tamo J) who supported the initiative while providing entertainment to customers who came out to celebrate the occasion.
“Overall, the JACANA 4/20 celebration was a memorable event. One, due to the fact that it’s been a while we have been privileged to come together like that, and for that reason in celebration of marijuana,” Munga Honorable told the Jamaica Observer.
“We celebrate marijuana every day, so its inaugural to have a day and to have a corporate entity endorsing this,” he added.
In an abbreviated performance, Munga Honorable thrilled patrons with his well-known hits such as Bad from Mi Born, Nah Mad, Move on, and Take My Place.
“I enjoyed the gathering and the herb, of course. I got to meet regular people from different walks of life and mingling with the other entertainers. It was a pleasure being there. Thanks to the JACANA team for the invite,” said Munga Honorable.
‘4/20’ is a globally recognised day for all things cannabis and JACANA took the reins in showing their solidarity with the movement.
This year’s aim with JACANA’s International Cannabis Day activities was not only to celebrate the plant’s role in society over the years but also to focus on providing education and awareness on the various uses of Cannabis.
“JACANA’s goal and focus is to celebrate the progression of the plant through education, giving value back to our loyal JACANISTs and, of course, some reggae music,” said Alexandra Chong, CEO of JACANA.
“JACANA as a proud Jamaican company recognises the importance of 4/20 as Global Cannabis Day and we believe it is our duty as a company whose mission it is to provide the finest quality organic herb to all Jamaicans, to highlight and celebrate the plant in all ways possible,” he continued.
Launched in 2018, JACANA has locations in Portmore, Manor Park, Ocho Rios, and New Kingston. The company has rapidly made its mark within Jamaica with a diverse product range of medical-grade cannabis, including flowers, vapes, extracts, tinctures, and balms. Additionally, it has established itself as the premier cannabis cultivator, manufacturer, and brand in the Caribbean.
