Let Loose lives up to billing

Organisers of Let Loose certainly delivered on their promise of a fun-filled soca versus dancehall themed staging held at Footprints Cafe in New Kingston on Saturday, April 16, 2022.

Patrons came out as early as 7:00 pm for the event scheduled to start at 8:00 pm. The females couldn’t get enough of the musical offerings from DJ Ali Patch, Rebel Sound, and DJ Kevin, who kept the party blazing until the wee hours of the morning. The cafe was also transformed into a friendly dancing face-off competition when DJ Kevin switched things up to have a dancing segment. Patrons could be seen moving to Ding Dong’s Stir Fry, Marksman’s Certified Choppa, along with La Lee and Cristale’s Bong Bing.

After a two-year hiatus, one of the directors of the event, Henry “Sean” Braham, explained that he is pleased with the return of the event.

“It feels absolutely great being back on the party scene base on the fact that we have been down since two years plus. The turnout was absolutely amazing! My highlight of the event was when I went on the stage and I could not see the ground none at all; it was just people all around. It was amazing and I could never forget seeing that,” he told the Jamaica Observer.

Braham said that Let Loose provided a platform where up-and-coming entertainers could showcase their talent.

“Our Brand Black Water Entertainment has always provide a stage where young people can bring their talent and display it to the wider world. Both the artistes were grateful for this opportunity and they have sent us numerous messages thanking us for what we did for them. The artistes who performed included Kev Kush, Moses, Nico Blast Altovasion, Emerge, Toikal4five, and among others,” Braham said.

He said Let Loose is scheduled to be featured three times more this year on the entertainment calendar.

“The next staging will be on July 16 at Magaritaville in Ochio Rios and Santa Cruz on July 30. Followed by Kingston on August 6. Based on what people have seen here in Kingston, they are requesting that we bring the party to Ochi and Santa Cruz. This is going to be our second staging on Magaritivalle and we look forward for a gratifying welcome,” he said.
