Waterhouse reclaims Premier League lead
KINGSTON, Jamaica —Waterhouse returned to the top of the points table in the Jamaica Premier League on Monday after beating Humble Lion 1-0 in their return round game played at the stadium east complex.
Denardo Thomas’ second half goal was enough to give Waterhouse all three points as they improved to 39 points, same as Dunbeholden FC, but with a better goal-difference.
Dunbeholden’s 1-1 draw with Tivoli Gardens on Sunday had left the door open for Waterhouse and they took full advantage.
Meanwhile, Humble Lion are in eighth place with 17 points.
Thomas’ speculative ball from midway the Humble Lion half in the 52nd minute flew over the head of goalkeeper Shamal Briscoe and lodged in the back of the goal.
It was Waterhouse’s third win in a row while it snapped Humble Lion’s two game winning streak.
