KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KASFA) has drafted noted communicator and marketing expert Carole Beckford, as it looks to ramp up activities ahead of its 60-year anniversary in 2025.

Beckford has been appointed as Chief Development Officer, effective July 1, and will be charged with driving the organisation’s efforts in revenue-generation and budgeting, community development as well as increasing the skill capacity while working closely with key stakeholders such as coaches, managers, players, community groups and the 32 teams within the organisation.

“Football is vital overall to sport development in Jamaica. KSAFA is a major contributor to the national federation. Those are just two reasons why this assignment is going to be interesting. I am up to the challenge and will call on my sources and resources to make this a success,” said Beckford in response to the appointment.

“KSAFA is already football proficient and while the product will drive the investment, I am focussed on the stakeholder lead approach. The players, teams, and management must play a vital role in their own development and that is part of what Kingston as a major centre of Jamaica’s football has to offer,” Beckford added.

KSAFA president Wayne Shaw expressed delight with the appointment and is convinced Beckford’s knowledge and experience will ensure a successful partnership.

League football will begin on July 2 with the parade of teams and an opening match at a venue to be announced.
