Precious Shordee’s ready
CAYMAN Islands-born recording artiste Precious Shordee is determined to make a big impact on Jamaica’s music scene.
“I love everything about Jamaica — the music, the food and the culture. It’s just a different kind of energy over there. I would love to a make serious impact over there with my music, because once you get the green light in Jamaica, you’re ready for the world,” declared Precious Shordee.
The entertainer, whose musical style is a fusion of dancehall, rap and R&B, is getting ready to release a single titled Ya Nah Ready.
The song, co-produced by Precious Shordee and TrillCity Global, is scheduled to be released on June 17.
“I’m very excited about this single. It has a strong hip hop vibe mixed with that unmistakable Caribbean flavour, with a touch of dancehall. I’m sure it’s going to be a favourite in the clubs this summer,” she said.
Precious Shordee is also working on several new projects including singles with Grenadian soca star Mr Killa and Shone Rumulus, who plays the character Dris in the popular Netflix series Top Boy.
“I’m doing a lot of work in the studios with TrillCity Global. We have a lot of exciting projects in the pipeline, including a single with Mr Killa and one with Dris. I’m also doing some work with Slym BlackOps Music and Shotty Shane Productions in Jamaica,” she said.
Precious Shordee, given name Sheril Precious McField, hails from the Cayman Islands and currently lives in the UK. Some of her other songs are Pretty Like This and How We Move.
