287 new COVID-19 cases in Jamaica, no deaths reported
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Ministry of Health and Wellness reported 287 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, June 5, bringing the infection total to 139,029.
The new cases comprise 173 females and 114 males, with ages ranging from four months to 91 years.
The cases were recorded in Kingston and St Andrew (62), St Catherine (43), St James (42), St Ann (32), St Thomas (21), Westmoreland (17), St Elizabeth (14), Manchester (12), Portland (11), Trelawny (10), St Mary and Clarendon (nine each) and Hanover (five.)
No deaths were recorded for the period.
There were 136 recoveries in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 87,874.
Currently, 119 people are hospitalised, 32 of whom are moderately ill, four severely ill and two critically ill.
Jamaica’s positivity rate for the latest round of testing is 29.8 per cent.
