260 new COVID-19 cases in Jamaica, one death reported
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Ministry of Health and Wellness reported 260 new COVID-19 cases and one death on Saturday, June 11, bringing the infection total to 140,463 and total deaths to 3,083.
The new cases comprise 155 females and 105 males, with ages ranging from two days to 92 years.
The cases were recorded in St James (54), St Catherine (50), Kingston and St Andrew (47), Westmoreland (20), St Ann (18), St Mary (15), Portland (13), St Elizabeth (12), Clarendon (11), Hanover (seven), Manchester (six), Trelawny (five), and St Thomas (two).
The deceased is an 84-year-old female from St Catherine, who died in July 2021.
There were 117 recoveries in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 88,733.
Currently, 137 people are hospitalised, 42 of whom are moderately ill, six severely ill and five critically ill.
Jamaica’s positivity rate for the latest round of testing is 30.4 per cent.
