Classic filly She’s A Wonder makes her seasonal bow
The Information and Communication Technology Department Cup is the main attraction on the 11-race card at Caymanas Park tomorrow, Saturday, June 18, 2022.
The three-year-old upwards Overnight Allowance contest going 6 ½ furlongs (1,300m) will see the return of She’s A Wonder, last year’s 1000 Guineas and Jamaica Oaks winner.
Below is the breakdown of the chances of each runner.
1. LURE OF LUCY (USA): (4 b f by Uncle Lindo – Ring of Faith) – Consistent foreigner who finished fourth 28 days ago travelling five furlongs round. Lure of Lucy faces Solid Approach who was in front the last time they met, but if judiciously ridden Lure of Lucy can be difficult to contend with. Lure of Lucy has also caught the eye at exercise. Note, Lure of Lucy races with the tongue tie on.
2. VERSATILE VISION: (5 b f Fearless Vision – Chintaggoodaz) – Is going to be left behind.
3. CURLIN’S AFFAIR: (4 ch c by Perfect Curlin – Nuclear Affair) – Has been going well at this level. Curlin’s Affair is fit and the distance is right, and although allowing the weight, he is going to be a factor when the winning post comes into view.
4. SECRET IDENTITY: (4 b f by Bern Identity – Pomeroy’s Secret) – Was third behind Laban and Rojorn Di Pilot over the five straight on June 5. Secret Identity is equally effective on the round and could put in a good effort but she will not have it her own way on the lead, which might hamper her chances of winning.
5. JORDON REIGN’S (USA): (4 b g by Mosler – Dearie be Good) – Was all the rage when coming off a lay-off on April 3 but finished in fourth place down the straight. Jordon Reign’s returns here well trained and, from this convenient mark, should put in a good effort. Note, Jordon Reign’s races with the figure 8 off, and the cheek pieces on.
6. THREE TIMES LUCY: (4 ch f by Northern Giant – Granville Greta) – Will be hard-pressed to land a blow.
7. ATLANTIC BLUE: (7 ch h by Strikewhileitshot – Luvable) – Has no chance of winning.
8. SHE’S A WONDER: (4 b f by Bern Identity – Jamaican Dream) – Has been absent from competitive racing since December 27, 2021. She’s A Wonder drops down to the Overnight grade but has to overcome her bad habit of being slow out of the box. If all goes well for her at the start, She’s A Wonder will be difficult to beat. She’s A Wonder has been meticulously prepared for her seasonal entry and has shown her readiness at exercise.
9. HELICOPTER: (5 b g by Storm Craft – Face Tracker) – Cannot be recommended for a winning run.
10. BIG BIG DADDY: (5 dkb h by Natural Selection – Just A Flutter) – Showed little in his three starts this season.
11. ONE DON (USA): (4 ch c by Chitu – Shezacrazygirl) – Cannot get the nod.
12. SOLID APPROACH (USA): (5 ch m by Cajun Breeze – Puz’ler) – Returned to competitive racing from a 241-day break on May 21 and finished a creditable third behind God of Love and Laban at five furlongs round. With that run under her girt and the trip being perfect, Solid Approach has a good chance of winning.
