Double Diva seeks anniversary fifth-consecutive win
The three-year-and upwards Open Allowance/Graded Stakes call for the Supreme Ventures Limited 21st Anniversary Trophy (G1) will see a field of eight runners battling for top honours at five and a half furlongs (1,100m). Trainer Jason DaCosta holds the key with five of the eight runners.
The runners are analysed below in post-position order
1. GO DEH GIRL (USA): (4 dkb f by Justin Phillip – Pontificating) – Go Deh Girl defeated God of Love and Duke over the straight course 28 days off. God of Love and Duke are again present with not much change in the weight. Go Deh Girl will have to be sharp out of gate one to have a chance against these.
2. HOVER CRAFT: (12 b g by He’stherealthing – Royal Pizzaz) – This old-timer is way out of his depth.
3. DUKE: (6 gr h by Casual Trick – Lady MacBeth) – Continues to be competitive and has now received a substantial pull in the weights, dropping by 11 pounds. Duke races over a trip which he is much better suited, and with the hot Dane Dawkins in the saddle, has a glorious chance of making win number 12.
4. GOD OF LOVE: 6 b g by Adore The Gold – Shanda D) – Finished second behind Go Deh Girl over the straight on May 28. God of Love is going to prefer the round course and another sterling run is expected.
5. KING ARTHUR: (5 b g by Natural Selection – Geisha Gift) – A winner two starts back when travelling six furlongs. King Arthur appears to have found his rhythm and with the trip not too short, and can find a place, especially after increasing the tempo at exercise.
6. EAGLE ONE (USA): (5 b g by Astrology – Frisky Cheerleader) – Although not in the best form, Eagle One is comfortable here, and a good showing is expected.
7. DOUBLE DIVA (USA): (4 ch f by Bourbon – Maude Onions) – Romped home to her fourth consecutive victory on local soil at the Overnight Allowance level over seven furlongs (1,400m) on May 28, 2022. Then Double Diva made one move to win the event by an impressive five lengths, clocking a decent 1:26.2 time for the distance. Although stepping up here, Double Diva packs the class and talent to win again.
8. I AM FRED (USA): (4 b g Golden Lad – Happy Hailey) – Romped home to his sixth career victory when winning the Distinctly Irish Trophy over nine-plus (1,820m). I Am Fred should not find this trip too sharp and could once again fight this out successfully.
