Kingston Biennial 2022: PRESSURE (Part 2)
Saturday Social shares more highlights from the opening of Kingston Biennial, the National Gallery of Jamaica’s (NGJ’s) flagship event, that took place on Sunday, June 26 under the theme: ‘Pressure’. A theme, according to NGJ’s Chief Curator O’Neil Lawrence, that’s meant to produce change.
“The world has been under pressure. Alongside disruptions and traumas, the recalibrations and the pivoting, there has also been an opportunity for a new era of collective self-reflexivity and a desire to focus on what really matters”.
This pressure has birthed an exhibition that is ambitious, both in scale and volume of works. Of particular note is that the Biennial is relatable and worthy of several visits.
