#World Champs: Thomas-Dodd book spot in Shot Put Final
Euegene, OREGON – 2019 Doha World Athletics Championships shot put silver medal winner Danniel Thomas-Dodd has secured her spot in the final of the women’s shot put at the Oregon World Championships.
Thomas-Dodd, who is currently ranked ninth in the world this year, delivered a best throw of 19.09 metres in Group B to easily surpass the automatic qualifying mark of 18.90 metres in her first attempt. Thomas-Dodd will enter the final of the event with the fifth furthest throw.
Meanwhile, the other Jamaican in the event, Lloydricia Cameron, who lined up in Group A of the qualification, did not advance to the final.
The final of the women’s shot put is slated to take place tomorrow, July 16 at 8:25pm Jamaica time.
