#World Champs: Pinnock finishes ninth in Long Jump Final
EUGENE, Oregon- NCAA Division I Indoors and Outdoors long jump champion, Wayne Pinnock, missed out on a podium finish in the final of the men’s long jump at the Oregon World Championships.
Pinnock, who was the only Jamaican to advance to the final of the event, produced a best leap of 7.88 metres to place ninth.
Meanwhile, Jianan Wang of China saved it for his last attempt to capture the gold in a season’s best jump of 8.36 metres. Miltiadas Tentoglou of Greece finished second with 8.32 metres, while Simon Ehammer of Switzerland rounded out the top three finishers with a jump of 8.16 metres.
