#WorldChamps: All three Jamaican men through to 110m Hurdles Semis
EUGENE, Oregon- Tokyo Olympics 110 metres hurdles champion Hansle Parchment recorded the fastest qualifying time for the Jamaicans in the Heats of the event in Eugene, Oregon.
The world number one ranked, Parchment, comfortably secured the victory in Heat 4 in a time of 13.17 seconds. He crossed the line ahead of Rafael Pereira of Brazil (13.23), France’s Just Kwaou-Mathey (13.32) and Shane Brathwaite of Barbados (13.47), who rounded out the top four finishers.
In addition, Rasheed Broadbell, who competed in Heat one of the event, came through very late to secure the second place spot in a time of 13.36 seconds. The race was won by Trey Cunningham of America in 13.26 seconds.
Meanwhile, Orlando Bennett, who faced the starter in heat three had to settle for fifth in a time of 13.55 seconds. He advanced to the semi-finals as one of the fastest losers.
The semi-finals of the men’s 110 metres hurdles is scheduled for Sunday, July 17 at 7:05 pm.
