65 new COVID-19 cases in Jamaica, one death reported
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Ministry of Health and Wellness reported 65 new COVID-19 cases over the last 24 hours, bringing the infection total to 144,997.
Only one death was recorded, bringing the total to 3,174 confirmed deaths.
The new cases comprise 42 females and 23 males, with ages ranging from 46 days to 96 years.
The cases were recorded in Kingston and St Andrew (29), St James (16), St James (12), St Catherine (eight), , St Mary (6), Portland (five) St Ann (two), Clarendon, St Thomas and Westmoreland (one).
Trelawny, Manchester, Hanover and St Elizabeth were the only parishes to record zero cases
The death is of a 64-year-old man from St James, whose death was recorded in March 2021.
There were 102 recoveries in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 92,673.
Currently, 95 people are hospitalised, 30 of whom are moderately ill, four severely ill and three critically ill.
