Killer toast to Hennessy
BOUNTY Killer delivered a medley of his hit songs at the Hennessy Influencer Soiree, at Chillin Restaurant and Bar in New Kingston on July 7.
He belted out the lyrics to Living Dangerously, a 1996 number one he did with Barrington Levy; Sufferer, a 20-year-old hit on the Diwali rhythm; and Look, a 1999 nugget produced by Dave Kelly.
“This is a great moment, we are outside. Give thanks for life, give thanks to freedom again. I’m just here for this great moment,” said the veteran deejay prior to his performance. “Everybody knows the partnership between Bounty Killer and Hennessey over the years. And it’s a great association.”
Kamal Powell, marketing manager for export at J Wray & Nephew Limited, distributors of Hennessy in Jamaica, said Hennessey Influencer Soiree, “was held to celebrate the consumers and adorers of the brand who have continuously contributed to our growth over the years. We selected the top-selling customers and promoters who have consistently supported the growth of the brand”.
Several well-known social and entertainment personalities, including events promoter Chavaughn O’Neil (promoter for KGN 5 and a director at 876 Terrace); owners of Janga’s Sound Bar and Grill, attorney-at-law Ron Young, and Jordan Weller; Owen Reid, owner of Ultimate Ultra Lounge; Pier One Restaurant and Bar’s Jason Russell; promoter Ian Miles; social media influencer Roshani Howard; and Brian “Ribbi” Chung of Ribbiz Ocean Lounge and Ultra Lounge, attended the event.
“It was our pleasure to celebrate with our customers, consumers and friends, and we look forward to doing a similar activation every year,” said Powell.
Hennessy has been in Jamaica for over 140 years and has become synonymous with entertainment. Hennessey V is among the events the company sponsors
