ST JAMES, Jamaica – As a girl from Montego Bay, Moyann has long dreamt of performing on the Reggae Sumfest stage. On Festival Night One of this year’s edition, the up-and-coming artiste got to see that dream turn into reality.

For the young No Limit singer, that moment on Friday night meant more than she could put into words. She told OBSERVER ONLINE that performing in front of her home crowd is a moment she will never forget.

“It felt super great being up there because this is my home town. I have been to Sumfest as a regular patron before, watching it all go down and hoping to one day be on that stage. So coming from Montego Bay and performing in front of my people, mi feel good,” she said.

The Sumfest debutant heaped praises on the show’s organisers. She expressed that as a global platform, the Reggae Sumfest stage is a great launching pad for up-and-coming artistes and a staple for established acts.

“I know how important this platform is for upcoming artistes and even established artistes, and so being here is everything for me. It was a bit overwhelming and nerve racking but I went out there and did my best,” she said. “I feel super proud of myself and I am so grateful to be on the Sumfest stage. When I told my family I was going to be on Sumfest everyone was just super happy for me. I am super happy for me. This was really big for me.”

Moyann graced the stage in a showy gold ensemble and performed songs such as No Limit, Run Out, Backseat and How We A Live, her collaboration with Jashii.
