#WorldChamps: No medal for Jamaica in women’s 400m
EUGENE, Oregon – Jamaica’s Stephanie-Ann McPherson and Candice McLoed missed out on a podium spot in the final of the women’s 400 metres in Eugene, Oregon.
McPherson clocked a time of 50.36 seconds to place fifth in the event, while her compatriot McLeod crossed the line in the seventh place spot in a time of 50.78 seconds.
Meanwhile, the event was won by the 2016 Olympic champion, Shaunae Miller-Uibo of the Bahamas, in a world leading time of 49.11 seconds. She finished ahead of Marileidy Paulino of the Dominican Republic (49.60) and Sada Williams of Barbados, who produced a national record of 49.75 seconds for the bronze medal.
