#WorldChamps: Silver for Jamaica in men’s 4x400m final
EUGENE, Oregon – The Jamaican men, who lined up in the 4×400 metres relay final, claimed the nation’s ninth medal of the championships after capturing the silver medal in the event at the Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.
The quartet of Akeem Bloomfield, Nathon Allen, Jevaughn Powell and Christopher Taylor brought the baton across the line in a season’s best time of 2:58.58 seconds for the runner-up spot in the event.
This is the first medal for the Jamaican men during the championships.
Meanwhile, the race was won by the United States in a world leading time of 2:56.17 seconds, while Belgium took home the bronze medal in a season’s best time of 2:58.72 seconds.
