KINGSTON, Jamaica – Although his label was not officially launched until June 2022, for Jason Senior, founder of Mad Dawg Entertainment, pursuing music has been a life-long passion. In fact, the budding producer says he understands all too well that it doesn’t matter when you start as one song in the dancehall space is enough to catapult one’s career to the next level.

With that in mind, Senior took the bold step in reaching out to established artiste Chronic Law for a collaboration. He told OBSERVER ONLINE that although he was fairly new to the game of music production, he believed in his skills and knew the timing was right.

“There was just something inside me saying this is it. I knew I wanted to work with Chronic Law and so I just took the leap. Nothing happens before the right time, and I just knew now was that time,” he said.

The pair partnered on the track, Too Dark which was released earlier this month. With his dreams banking on the song’s success, the producer says so far, the response to the track has been great.

“I been around music for years so I have an ear for music. Chronic Law is a great artiste who goes hard on every track. When he deejays or sings, you feel every word. That is how good he is,” he said. “For the song, ‘Too Dark’ the artiste was just vybing. It’s just a reality song about what youths in the inner cities of Jamaica experience everyday. It’s about the environment they grew up in and how it influenced who they became. The Law Boss is basically saying the Garrison people too evil and dark and they need to change.”

“We are still promoting the single but so far it’s doing great. The streets love the song and its showing in the numbers. Right now it has more than 315,000 views on YouTube and it’s not even a month old yet,” Senior said. “It has the potential to be one of those great dancehall hits so we’re just pushing all we have behind it in terms of promotion.”

Now that he has got his foot in through the entertainment industry doors, the producer has big dreams of working with the likes of Grammy-winning artistes, Sean Paul and Shaggy. He says the Chronic Law feature did alot for him in terms of exposure and he is now looking towards the future.

“Working with Chronic Law on Too Dark changed alot and gave my label alot of recognition. I am now looking forward to what opportunities will arise from that collab and hopefully one day I’ll get to work with Shaggy and Sean Paul.
