WATCH: Man beheaded by machete-wielding man in Red Hills

ST ANDREW, Jamaica – A man is dead after his head was severed by a machete-wielding man, said to be mentally-ill, in Red Hills, St Andrew on Friday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Phillip Bennett, a construction worker of Walker’s Hill in Red Hills.

Police report that Bennett was walking along the roadway around 7am when he was attacked and chopped in the region of the neck by the accused.

The incident occurred in the vicinity of the Queeny’s bar in Red Hills Square.

The accused man reportedly also attacked other persons, including school children, before he was apprehended by police officers.

He is now in police custody.
