Paul Bogle High improved their record to four-straight wins after edging Morant Bay High 1-0 in their Inter-secondary Schools Sports Association daCosta Cup Zone L game in Morant Bay on Monday.

Roshane Thomas scored the goal, taking Paul Bogle to 12 points as they maintained their lead in the zone. The win also extended Paul Bogle High’s dominance over Morant Bay High to 12 games unbeaten.

Yallahs High maintained their spot in second, on nine points, after a 1-0 win over St Thomas Technical, while Seaforth High scored a school record 11-0 thrashing of Robert Lightbourne High. Seaforth are still in third place on seven points.

Shareef Ricketts led the way with four goals, Knashu Williams and Jovan Thomas both had two goals, Demoy Bailey and Jannar Beckford had one each, while there was an own goal.

Seaforth High’s score is the biggest of any team so far this season, one goal better than Dinthill Technical’s 10-0 win over Enid Bennett on Saturday.

In another game, B B Coke High scored their first win of the season, getting by Sydney Pagon High in a rain-interrupted game that was rescheduled from Saturday.

On Tuesday, two-time former champions Dinthill Technical will try to match Paul Bogle’s four-game winning start when they take on Guys Hill, who are playing for the first time since 2018.

Dinthill Technical’s three wins so far marked their best start since the 2017 season when they won all 10 first-round matches.

Guys Hill are also coming off a win — 3-0 over Ewarton High on the weekend.

Green Pond High, still buzzing from their win at Cornwall College on Saturday, will be going for three wins when they take on Irwin High. Another victory would see them having their best start to a season since they first entered the competition in 2008.

Green Pond, who managed just one win in their first five games last season when they played in Zone B, have had the better of Irwin High and have been the better team in their last six meetings.

DeCarteret College, Glenmuir High, and Old Harbour will also be hoping to build on winning starts.

DeCarteret take on Bellefield High in their Zone F game in Mandeville; Glenmuir High, who beat Denbigh High in their opening game on Saturday, will entertain Tacius Golding High; while Old Harbour High face Central High.

Defending champions Garvey Maceo, held to a 2-2 result in their opening game, will be back in action when they take on Winston Jones High, who were beaten 9-0 by Vere Technical in their first meeting last week.

Garvey Maceo Coach Merron Gordon has had more than two weeks to work out whatever kinks were in their system and they are expected to be firing on on all cylinders today.

Former champions Cornwall College will hope to rebound from their loss to Green Pond when they take on Anchovy High, who have lost both of their games played so far in Zone A.

Cornwall College will hope the return of midfielder Dane Buckley, who was sent off in their opening game 2-0 win over Maldon High, will help them pick up win number two.
