Jamaica reports 39 new COVID-19 cases, two deaths
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Ministry of Health and Wellness reported 39 new COVID-19 cases and two deaths on Tuesday, September 27, bringing the infection total to 151, 791.
The new cases comprise 14 females and 25 males, with ages ranging from three years to 100 years.
The cases were recorded in Kingston and St Andrew (17), Clarendon (5), Westmoreland (5), St Catherine (four), Manchester (two), St Ann (two), St James (two) and Trelawny (two).
Two deaths were recorded for the period. These were an 88-year-old male and an 80-year-old male from Kingston & St Andrew.
There were 83 recoveries in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 99,125, the Ministry said.
Currently, 64 people are hospitalised, 18 of whom are moderately ill, two severely ill and one in critical condition.
Jamaica’s positivity rate for the latest round of testing is 8.6 per cent.
