Ardenne High principal receives PM’s Medal of Appreciation

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Principal of Ardenne High School (AHS), Nadine Molloy has been awarded the Prime Minister’s medal of appreciation.

Molloy, who is an experienced educator, has been recognised for her years of service in the field of education.

Hailing from the parish of Portland, Molloy is a trained teacher and librarian who has served in various capacities across education. She served for two terms as the President of the Jamaica Association of Principals of Secondary Schools (JAPSS) and was President of the Jamaica Teachers’ Association from 2010-2011.

“I am truly honoured to be the recipient of the Prime Minister’s medal of appreciation which recognises the hard work and dedication of educators like myself. My passion for education and community development has allowed me to continually give of myself for the betterment of our students and wider society,” said Molloy.

Ardenne has experienced significant growth since Molloy’s tenure began in 2012. In fact, Ardenne is now rated Exceptionally High by the National Education Inspectorate. It is through her leadership that the school was able to quickly pivot to online learning at the onset of the coronavirus pandemic. She prioritised years of technology upgrades and staff training and development which allowed for the seamless transition from face-to-face to online education.

President of the Parent Teachers’ Association (PTA), Dr Winston De La Haye has applauded Molloy’s achievement and said, “Ms Molloy is an exemplary educator and principal who has provided experienced insights and guidance at one of the most difficult periods in the country’s educational history.”

The National Honours and Awards recognise those who, by their service and contribution, have had a meaningful and significant impact on national life.

Founded in 1927, the Ardenne High School located at 10 Ardenne Road in Kingston, is dedicated to developing the total person mentally, physically, socially and spiritually.
