‘Therapy’, the lead single from Rygin King’s debut album of the same name, is the top song in the Cayman Islands, according to Hot 104.1 FM.

Produced by Rygin Trap Records, the song was released in August and has to date racked up more than 3.8 million views on YouTube.

The album, ‘Therapy’, which has songs produced by Hemton Music, Sky Bad Productions and Caution Beats, was released September 9. It debuted at number 11 three weeks ago on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart. It sold 750 equivalent album units in the United States, according to Luminate. Of that amount, SEA (streaming equivalent album) units comprise 511 (equalling almost 800,000 on-demand official streams of the album’s tracks). Album sales comprise 230 and TEA (track equivalent albums) units account for nine.

In an interview with the Jamaica Observer, Rygin King said he put maximum effort into the sixteen-track project.

“A lot of work has been put inna dis album. Just by listening to it, all of di songs are truly relatable to a lot of circumstances like mine an’ other people out there in similar circumstances an’ situations in di same way,” Rygin King disclosed.

Songs on the album – including ‘Circumstances’, ‘Maddest Life’ and ‘Broken’ – hear the deejay chronicling life experiences.

Said Rygin King, “All of the songs are from personal experiences and what people can relate to. Di trauma dat I’ve been through an’ everything dat I have endured for di past two years, I put it into di album.”

St James-born Rygin King is a former participant in the Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall talent competition. In 2018 he scored a hit with ‘Tuff’, one of that year’s hottest songs.

His subsequent hits include ‘3ZN’, ‘Circumstances’ and ‘Things Go Change’.
