Man shot dead in Frome
WESTMORELAND, Jamaica – A fire watchman was shot and killed by an unknown assailant in Frome, Westmoreland, on Wednesday afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as 61-year-old Dalton Plummer of Board Scheme Georges Plain, in the parish.
Reports from the police are that shortly after 12 noon, residents heard explosions coming from a section of a canefield interval, and summoned the Frome Sugar Factory security patrol.
On arrival of the security team, Plummer was seen lying along the roadway suffering from a gunshot wound to the face.
Plummer was assisted by the security team to the Savanna-La-Mar Public General Hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment.
