Dandre Music making its name
CEO of Dandre Music, Daniel Hayle has high hopes for his projects with some of Jamaica’s young and up-and-coming artistes.
According to the producer, the latest ones include Bad Way and Fully Dark by Fiercee 1; Knock and 6 Street by Numba’z; and Missing You by Bria — on the Cool Vybz rhythm.
Fully Dark, Missing You, and 6 Street are expected to be released in mid-October.
“Bad Way by Fiercee 1 and Knock by Numba’z are on the Mac-90 rhythm and have been generating a lot of buzz, especially since the music videos have already dropped. Bria is another artiste to look out for. Her latest single Missing You on the Cool Vybz rhythm is to be released in mid-October and is one that the ladies will really enjoy,” he told the Jamaica Observer.
Dandre Music seeks to reach out to musically talented youth in need of opportunities. Despite the label being in its infancy, the 27-year-old has his hands full producing singles for emerging acts.
“It’s hard, but you have to build before you can employ more people. You have to put in all of the work first, because nobody will do it for you,” he said.
“Listening to young artistes that nobody knows gave me the inspiration to become a producer. Some of these artistes are good but nobody wants to pay them any mind. We have to show them that we believe in them because not every producer believes in young artistes. You have to build up their momentum and show them that you believe in them,” he continued.
The producer proclaims that he is still learning the business but is excited about future prospects. He intends to broaden the label’s repertoire to include more established artistes.
“Music is something you can’t predict as a producer. There are many minds out there and the song you might like and think people will like might end up being the song that they don’t like, and vice versa,” he reasoned.
