CASHING IN
THE Supreme Ventures Limited-sponsored Two-Year-Old Triple Crown Series gets rolling tomorrow with the running of the Cash Pot “Only One For Me” Trophy, a native-bred two-year-old Restricted Stakes contest going 6 furlongs (1,200m).
A small but talented field of six runners is down to take part as they compete for a purse of $3.25 million.
1. MOJITO: (2 gr c Savoy Stomp – Fiftyshadesofray) – Finished second on debut behind Mamma Mia over 5 furlongs (1,000m) round on October 16. Mojito should welcome this extended trip but against winners, cannot be recommended.
2. ROYAL ASH: (2 rn f by Fearless Vision – Greek Goddess) – Placed fourth behind Thalita and stablemate Legit Boss in the 5-1/2-furlong Princess Pospstar on October 8. With both Thalita and Legit Boss present, Royal Ash can best is going to be left behind.
3. LEGIT BOSS: (2 b f by Casual Trick – Bilingual) – Just got caught close home by Thalita in the Princess Popstar on October 8. Legit Boss has been training well but facing Thalita once again and with the distance increased, it does not augur well for her chances. However, two-year-olds improve in the blink of an eye, so don’t rule out a winning possibility for Legit Boss.
4. MAMMA MIA: (2 ch f by Soul Warrior – Princess Geeta) – Made an encouraging debut making one move to win the Betting, Gaming and Lotteries BGLC/TOBA Heroes’ Sprint over 5 furlongs round. Mamma Mia won the event by 4 lengths in a time of 1:01.0. She is of some ability and classy enough to run well.
5. SHOW GIRL: (2 b f by Northern Giant – Thegirlnextdoor) – This filly is out for the first time this season. Show Girl will need the run and should be bypassed.
6. THALITA: (2 ch f by Soul Warrior – Luminous Trieste) – Became the leading two-year-old after completing back-to-back wins in the recent Princess Popstar over 5½ furlongs (1,100m). Then Thalita produced a late run in deep stretch along the inside rails to win the event by a length and a quarter going away from rivals in a time of 1:06.1. Thalita will welcome this extended trip and, given her running style, will not be easily beaten.
