BirdShack Fried Chicken Jamaica started operations earlier this year with the official opening of its first store at Whitter Village in Montego Bay from a projected 15 stores over the next five years. Local franchise holders Arya QSR for the Alabama, USA-based company are looking to bring their style of fried chicken to all parish capitals through this initiative.

BirdShack also has its own proprietary seasonings, breading and cooking processes which involves the use of a kettle fryer that is unique to BirdShack. This is promoted by the company as delivering a more tender meat option for customers while reducing the oil residue through this process. This also delivers a different taste profile from its competitors.

The quick-serve restaurant has fried chicken options including crispy, cajun spicy and barbecue with wedges, cornbread rolls and coleslaw as side options.

Thursday Food checked in out west for a serving and will be keeping an eye on the growth of the brand across Jamaica.
