Sixty years in the life of a company is a remarkable achievement that should be celebrated. And Carreras did just that on Wednesday, hosting a cocktail event at the AC Hotel Kingston’s Rock Steady Ballroom. It was an opportunity for stakeholders to hobnob with company executives and business partners, reflect on the brand’s rich heritage, and toast great success.

It was also prime time for Chairman Patrick Smith to laud outgoing Managing Director Raoul Glynn’s two-year tenure, as Glynn officially passed the baton to Costa Rican leader Franklin Murillo. Smith also reaffirmed Carreras’ commitment to supporting higher education, awarding a record 90 scholarships to tertiary students.

As the company steps into the next chapter, it remains devoted to the “A Better Tomorrow” mandate, an initiative to reduce the health impact of its business while contributing to a sustainable future. The move towards replacing the company’s commercial motor vehicle fleet was bolstered by a roll-out of nine e-vehicles in August. With the environment top of mind, the corporate entity joined the Government’s national tree-planting initiative, on Labour Day, rallying more than 40 staff members to plant trees.
