FBI probes death of US woman in Mexico

The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has officially opened an investigation into the death of an American woman in Mexico.

According to Yahoo News, the state attorney general in Mexico investigating the case said Shanquella Robinson was killed in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, on October 29.

A video of the alleged beating has since gone viral.

In a statement sent to the media on Friday, a spokesperson for the FBI confirmed the agency would be handling the case.

“The FBI Charlotte Field Office has opened an investigation in the death of Charlotte resident, Shanquella Robinson in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, on or about October 29, 2022,” the statement read. “Due to the ongoing investigation, we have no further comment.”
