After a second-place finish coming off a nearly four-month break on last, three-year-old bay gelding I Realise returns as the favourite in the $1.09-million United Racehorse Trainers’ Association Trophy feature race at Caymanas Park today.

Running over one mile (1,600m) on November 5, I Realise finished 3 ½ lengths behind D Head Cornerstone after being on the front end for most of the way. With that run under his grit and much fitter for this, the Alford Brown trainee could go all the way here.

The imported three-year-old and upwards (non-winners of three) and native-bred three-year-old and four-year-old (non-winners of four) Restricted Stakes contest has attracted a field of eight runners competing over the circular course of nine furlongs and 25 yards (1,820m). Post time for the race is 3:00 pm, with the first post at 11:20 am.

I Realise has won his two races over this distance. On June 5, I Realise released his maiden tag in a 6 ¼-length romp in a time of 1:59.1, beating D Head Cornerstone, and then cantered home by 4 ¼ lengths ahead of Rainsville in a time of 1:58.3 on June 19.

Both D Head Cornerstone and Rainsville are present here with only the former considered of having a sound chance of winning.

D Head Cornerstone seems to be the type that prefers racing out of the chute, yet is more that sufficiently endowed to put away these.

Sonny T and Chippy, trained by Spencer Chung, and Sunset Silhoutte, trained by Jason DaCosta, both could have a say in the outcome of the race.

Sonny T and Chippy was an impressive winner over this distance on October 22, beating rivals by 2 3/4 lengths in 1:59.3. Sonny T and Chippy is a lover of two turn races and given his running style, he can make it two wins on the trot.

Sunset Silhoutte finished third behind D Head Cornerstone over one mile on November 5 but she was in front of him when they met over this distance on October 6. Sunset Silhoutte is poised for another good effort, but not a winning one.
