Asphalt Assault: Dexterity Last Slide is scheduled for the Tru-Juice Orchards in Bog Walk, St Catherine, on Sunday, November 27. The event, the final event in the Asphalt Assault series, is slated to start at 10:00 am.

“This will be our final event for 2022,” Christopher James of event organisers Team Streetz told the Jamaica Observer‘s Auto magazine.

The dexterity event was relocated to a concrete surface in the Tru-Juice Orchards when motorsports was restarted earlier this year. Its previous home was the dirt track within the orchards.

“The drivers love it. It’s much easier on the cars since most of it has a solid concrete base, so even the drift cars can have fun. Spectators have a little longer to drive but our sponsor Tru-Juice has really stepped up and has worked hard on improving the roads to make the journey painless,” said James.

James added that fans can expect an exciting finale.

“We’ll be having street cars versus race cars, which equals epic battles. We are expecting some new competitors,” he said.

One of those new competitors is Sara Misir, who has been making a splash in international racing as she became the first female driver from the region to win the Formula Woman competition, gaining her a seat in the GT Cup Championship. While Misir’s presence is welcome, all eyes will be on opening round winner Rajendra Jadusingh. Jadusingh, a dexterity veteran, showed up many of his rivals when he took his front-wheel drive MINI Cooper all the way to victory lane in a sea of supposedly superior rear-wheel drive machines.

“I’m going to assume there’ll be more competition this time as I suspect the rear-wheel drives guys were a bit complacent the first time,” said Jadusingh.

More than aware of the situation, he will be back with the MINI to defend his win and show it wasn’t a fluke.

The truncated motorsports season means Team Streetz will not be making any significant changes. However, as there wasn’t enough events for a championship, they will be offering a cash prize and automotive products from sponsor Amsoil to the ProClass drivers. With Team Streetz planning to close out 2022 on a high on Sunday, James has larger plans for the full season 2023 will provide.

“These are exciting times as our sport is evolving rapidly and finally getting the attention it has always deserved. Team Streetz will be there powering forward. Rallysport is going to be hot in 2023,” he said.
